Frequently Asked Questions
Do you conduct group walking sessions?
Unfortunately, we don't offer group walks. Instead, we focus on providing personalized, one-on-one walks with the same dedicated dog walker each day. Our goal is to ensure your dog receives top-quality, individualized attention throughout the entire walk.
What are the benefits of hiring a dog walker compared to utilizing daycare or kennel services?
Enrolling your dog in daycare may inadvertently reinforce undesirable behaviors and lead to anxiety due to the constantly changing environment. Additionally, exposure to common dog illnesses in daycare and kennel settings can pose risks, particularly for puppies and older dogs. Opting for a dog walker enables your dog to adhere to their established routine within the comfort of their familiar surroundings. This personalized approach ensures both you and your dog receive the highest level of attention and care.
Do you permit dogs to be off-leash during walks?
Regrettably, we're unable to accommodate off-leash walks. It's mandated by local ordinances that dogs must be leashed at all times while in public areas, including parks.
How do you handle situations where my dog sustains an injury while under your care?
This is an important inquiry that every pet owner should pose to any service provider. Initially, we'll promptly evaluate the situation, gather all relevant information from involved parties, notify you, and arrange for your dog's medical attention if required. It's worth noting that incidents are exceptionally rare, and if they do occur, they typically involve interactions with irresponsible third parties rather than among dogs under our supervision.
What procedures are in place if my pet requires medical attention while I'm away?
Before providing our services, we'll request you to complete an emergency contact form, which we'll keep on record. By signing this form, you consent to us seeking medical care for your pet in your absence. While we'll make every attempt to take your pet to your designated veterinarian, if unreachable, we'll promptly transport your pet to the nearest emergency clinic. Woodward Pet Sitting kindly asks that you inform your veterinarian, allowing them to note in your pet's file our authorization to seek medical attention when necessary.
How can we initiate the process of utilizing your services?
For inquiries, please reach out via email or phone (details available on our contact us page). If we're unavailable to answer your call immediately, rest assured we'll get back to you promptly. Once our consultation is complete and all necessary paperwork is received, we'll be ready to begin caring for your cherished pets.
What is the purpose of the "Meet & Greet" session?
During this free appointment, we'll have the opportunity to meet you and all of your pets. Typically, this appointment lasts between 15 to 30 minutes. Throughout the consultation, we'll delve into the pet services you're interested in, allowing us to customize our offerings to suit your unique requirements. We'll make certain that all your inquiries are addressed and that all required paperwork is completed.
Do you offer boarding accommodations?
We do not provide boarding services. Instead, we specialize in in-home vacation care, which we believe is significantly less stressful for your pet and offers a safer environment for your beloved companions. To explore our comprehensive range of at-home services, please visit our services page.
Will you continue visits during inclement weather conditions?
Rest assured, adverse weather won't deter us. We come fully equipped with all-weather gear to handle rainy, cold, or snowy conditions. In case of rain, kindly leave out a towel for us to dry off your furry friend. If your dog isn't fond of the rain, we'll keep outdoor activities brief and focus on indoor playtime instead. During severe weather events such as heatwaves, blizzards, or thunderstorms, our services may be adjusted for everyone's safety.
Do you provide any training programs or services?
We have the capability to guide any dog toward positive behavioral changes, irrespective of their current surroundings. However, a challenge arises upon their return home, where their behavior tends to adapt to the individuals and dynamics present, whether reinforcing rules or not. Building trust and respect forms the foundation of all relationships. Our approach involves collaborating with owners to train their beloved companions, one step at a time.

- Cash
- Checks
* There is a non-refundable $30 service charge for any returned checks. No postdated checks!
